Our president, Sandy, first went to Haiti in 2001 with an established mission organization and loved it so much she took more trips there. She had the opportunity to spend one month abroad, and discovered there were many Haitians that had never seen a missionary before. She realized there were a number of villages that were not being reached by the established missions, so she decided to start her own organization. S'MORES became an official non-profit in 2004.
Meet Pastor Bastia . . .
Pastor Bastia is assisting us in our mission in Haiti. We met him in 2002, when he lived in Wisconsin and he held a class to teach us how to speak a little Haitian Creole. At that time, his father was a pastor at a small church that was a tin roof on poles. Pastor Bastia now has a large church with a congregation of couple hundred people. His passion is to improve the quality of life for the people in his community.
"What good is it, my brother, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such a faith save him? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." - James 3:14 & 17
